Instructions:
The gray squares are construction sites.
The bar at the bottom shows when new houses will start to have a higher level than usual immediately after they appear. Before filling, towers would appear with a level 1 or 2, but after that levels will vary from 2 to 3 and so on.
To remove a spell without using it, you have to click on the right mouse button.
